October 2006 posted on a travel forum
Hi,  We just got back from the Pacific Sunrise and LOVED it. There was a nice age range of passengers: 22-60. Crew was amazing. Food was amazing. We were fed continuously which for me was a very good thing! :)

It''s more of a motor sailer (the motor was only off when we were anchored) and the sails went up and were beautiful but not neccessarily functional. It seems to be a trade off as we saw some of the boats that were truly sailing and they looked far less comfortable....ie...a line of bunks below deck and everyone had to sit on the rail during the day.

On Pacific Sunrise, there was a library!!! It felt like a luxury vacation. Our room was incredibly comfortable with its own bathroom...did I mention how good the food was? The first day we got out to sea and went for a swim and had dinner, the 2nd day went to Whithaven Beach (never seen a beach like this- the sand is like dust...it's silicone!) in the morning and motor sailed to our next location for dinner and a swim off the boat.

The 3rd day we went snorkeling in 3 different spots and saw coral, fish, and a stingray. The 4th day we returned to the dock in the morning and said our goodbyes. I was hoping to see larger sea animals and to snorkel the 2nd day, but the conditions didn't allow for it. Every trip seems to be different with changes in itinerary and vibe depending on the other passengers. We very much enjoyed our group and had a lovely time at sea, swimming, snorkeling, reading, and making love. i just wrote that last thing as a joke, but my friend is daring me to leave it in, and i can't ever resist a dare. good luck to you!

Please Note:
Due to the requirements of electrical equipment onboard Pacific Sunrise the engines of the boat must run to meet the demands of refridgeration, air conditioning, lighting and other electrical equipment.  So while under sail Pacific Sunrise's engines are still needed to power equipment.

Hello

I just wanted to thank you so much for all your help with our booking, we really had the most amazing 3 days. The boat was brilliant and the crew
were fantastic and really looked after us.

We will definitely be recommending Oz Magic Tours and Pacific Sunrise and hope to be back again soon.

All the best for 2007.
Best Wishes
Louise & Simon
